VetStrategy is owned by a private equity firm based in Boston. Corporate greed has infiltrated Canadian Vet practices and you’re none the wiser to it happening! The vet offices they own act as if they’re independently operated, I only found out the practice I go to is owned by VetStrategy after the CBC documentary. They over charge and recommend services that usually aren’t medically necessary. If your office is owned by this company be warned that you’ll be taken to the cleaners financially while they prey on your emotional connection to your pets. I’ve already switched vet clinics after wondering about the thousands of dollars I’ve spent on both my cats over the past two years. Disgusting company.

Been going to the same vet since the early 80's, I've noticed since the new company has taken over a lot more staff turn around. All the decor of the past veterinarian had put up, which was local to the area is all gone. The staff are still nice. I still believe in what they say but they do push for the extras and the cost has gone up . I did however watch a thing on fifth state regarding the company that owns this veterinary clinic and it is quite concerning to me. Sadly once my pets have lived there natural lives I will no longer be able to afford the costs of owning a pet.

The cats out of the bag ,
CBC has done some interesting reporting of the corporate greed and the stress you have caused millions of pet owners . You claim that you only want the best care for animals? Well what your disgusting greed has and is causing is people dumping animals because they can no longer care for them . That’s what you have done for pets and pet owners.
I will be going out of my way to be making damn sure I don’t have to use a clinic under your greedy fingers unless I have no other choice . I do have choices and will be monitoring my current clinic and as soon as I see you or one of the other greedy companies who are buying up private clinics I will be looking for another.

Wow seeing all the negative reviews I will definitely be transferring my pets to a different independently own vet...like everyone else I have a serious issue with the vet hospital they just took over a few months ago. Within a few weeks all the staff were cleared out and replaced with their corporate staff. I only see one vet remaining from the original staff and no one else from the original staff. All their vet techs and assistants gone. And on top of that I started noticing an almost immediate decline in the care of my animals. Apparently so did the rest of the neighborhood, looking at the reviews from my vet in the last couple of months and everybody else has also left very negative 1 star reviews. Unfortunately this review will do absolutely nothing to stop this corporate greed and lack of animal care so I'll just be taking my business else where. Kudos to CBC for making the website to check for all these corporately owned vets!

VetStrategy is all about corporate profitability = greed. Avoid a vet clinic that has been bought out by them or any other corporation.

Any service beyond an exam and you will find the fees are exorbitant. I just realized why it cost me so much to have my pet euthanized in March. Didn't realize the vet I had gone to for years had been bought by a corporation who are only in the game for the $$. I will be avoiding such vet clinics in future whenever possible.

Disgusting.

THE WALMART of Pet Care. Just without the coupons and discounts, quite the opposite. Their acquired clinics are based on corporate greed now and they’re spread out domestically close to a city near you.

There is no rebranding once any locally owned Vet clinic in any province is acquired, so you'll never know - do your research first + support local.

There is a goal and process here and this corporate entity is in the business of profiting of your sick pets. This why you’re all treated as just a number.

The Vets Dr even if good people have no choice but to cooperate or leave. The Vets cannot disclose secrets or inside info even after going ways per contracts or they’ll sued and lives ruined.

Their employee replying these reviews is not of any importance and is also trained as most corporations are to deflect. Just wait to read reply no matter how hard they try it will sounds AI, even though their human.

This company bought an amazing vet clinic. As soon as they did, the clinic was down to one vet, I couldn't get an in-person appointment, and it was made clear to me that in-person after hours emergency care is in danger. Based on other reviews, this is Vet Strategy's MO. Clearly money, and not animal welfare, is what matter. They should be ashamed of themselves.

When I first wrote to VetStrategy I had no idea of the reviews about the company posted on Google reviews.
Below you will find mine to the team at VetStrategy.
VetStrategy bought the only vet clinic in my home town in Newfoundland and suddenly they claim not to have any vets but one. As a result, what should be timely appointments for the benefit of your pet, becomes a gut-wrenching decision whereas you accept a black mail shake down, where you pay as much as twice the price under the guise of an emergency visit, or your pet waits for as much as two months for fair care.
Curiously, if you opt for the emergency visit, your pet will be seen by the same vet in between regular visits. In itself this begs the question as to why pay twice as much when the vet is already there and, apparently has time after all, to tend to your pet...
What is clear to me is that VetStrategy prays on your wallet while your pet is all but a means to an end for their revenue stream.

One vet that I talked to didn't seem to have the courage to say that she wouldn't work for them. Instead she confided that the service of a vet should not be construed as a take it or leave it service.

We have been spoon feeding George since he was two and his life is one of happiness that he shares with his brother Barney however, since VetStrategy bought the vet clinic, his food is not in stock as it was regularly before the clinic changed ownership.

We became concerned for his access to timely vet services as we kept hearing horror stories after horror stories about what the clinic had become.

From individuals taking it upon themselves to accuse the clinic of killing their dog on social media, to at least one friend claiming that she called 17 times to no avail and after having left messages for her sick cat, suddenly the Gander clinic became a house of horrors for residents.

A cancer patient had to take her cat in and when she was told that the visit would be deemed an emergency visit, to the tune of $400, that she could not afford, she started crying right there at the front desk, then and only then did they decide to see her cat.

At my last visit at the clinic I was bullied into apologizing because I had addressed the same concerns I reduced to writing herein, with innuendos that I had verbally abused the technician I had been on the phone with.
What they didn't know is that as part of my work, all conversations are recorded on any of my phones.

There is a recurring theme here where Pet owners are continuously abused, blackmailed and bullied into paying exorbitant prices, at a time when they have no other immediate options.
