I recently visited the Cotswold Outdoors shop to buy hiking boots, and I had the absolute pleasure of being assisted by Vic (Victoria). She was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment I arrived, she was incredibly engaging, honest, and full of energy.

Vic took the time to really understand what I needed, giving me her undivided attention and making me feel completely at ease. She clearly knew her stuff, offering invaluable tips and tricks to ensure I got the perfect fit and feel for my boots.

Her friendly and approachable manner made the entire experience enjoyable, and her passion for helping customers really shone through. I left not only with the ideal hiking boots but also with a smile on my face.

I had my feet scanned and some walking shoes were recommended. Very helpful assistant advised me and patiently brought shoes for me to try on. Not his fault that I couldn't decide which ones to get!

We popped in today so that my wife could look at new hiking boots. Victoria was an absolute star and after measuring and checking out my wife's feet, she recommended Meindl boots that were of a suitable width. She talked about the insoles and socks.

It was a brilliant experience and my wife bought amazing Meindl boots and insoles and I came away with some Bridgedale socks. I can fit my feet checked too and now know what sort of bit would be suitable for me.

This is what boot shopping should be like and, of course, a totally different experience from online. I thoroughly recommend this store.

The 3 gents we spoke to on the day were super friendly and helpful but I can not speak more highly of Rob! Rob went above and beyond when it came to helping us find the right walking boots for our personal needs. Definitely don't get a sleazy salesman vibe from this store, just 3 people that clearly love what they do and have amazing customer service skills!

A small store in the centre of Bakewell, staff are very helpful and despite being a small store they have good stock.

The thing that really lets the shop down is allowing dogs inside, often wet and muddy in a small carpeted upstairs. My last visit there were more dogs in there barking away than people.

I now avoid this store at all costs and drive into Nottingham

Popped into the Bakewell store for a look at replacement hiking boots. I have Scarpa Mistrals and love them, Bought in 2020 but have many many miles on them. Victoria did a foot scan and talked me through that.She asked about my walking miles and the terrains etc etc. She explained the three catagories of boot adn that I needed to be in the big boy end! We tried on the two Scarpa options and I eventually plumped for the same ones I already have as they are like slippers. The other Scarpas were so comfy but just brown leather and I didnt like the look . Very attentive service despite the small shop being very full and busy. I also bought the active insoles which fit a treat so I am all set.
