You’ll be greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly brewed tea as soon as you enter the store. The space is filled with a rich tea fragrance that entices foodies to place their orders right away. The bestseller is still the brown sugar milk tea, but I personally love the green tea with bubbles—it’s flavorful, sweet, and creamy, capturing the perfect balance of taste. The atmosphere is lively, always bustling with people coming and going, which adds to the great vibe. It’s definitely a must-visit spot in Austin!

Good taste of the Oolong tea and the green tea from the drinks. The drink with normal sugar and no ice was not too sweet.
The service was very good here. The girl giving the tea tasting tour was so friendly and patient. Nice tea tasting experience.
The tea shop interior design was good but looked quite crowded. It’s hard to stay in the shop and enjoy the tea drink peacefully. And it’s so noisy inside the tea shop; I could even barely hear the music from the shop.

I heard that Chicha San Chen has been quite popular lately, so I decided to give it a try out of curiosity. Upon entering, I found the space to be airy and clean, with a separate area for self-ordering drinks, while in other areas, some groups were being introduced to the teas by the staff. I ordered three drinks, but honestly, they didn't meet my expectations. The menu is diverse with many types of tea, so I might visit again to see if I can find a drink that suits my taste.

Chicha San Chen is often hyped as a must-try for boba lovers in Austin, so we were excited to give it a go.

Walking into the shop, we were greeted with a clean, inviting environment and friendly staff, which was a great first impression. Ordered the Bubble Milk Tea and Fresh Milk with Taro Ball and Paste, both of which came highly recommended. While the drinks were decent, they didn’t quite live up to the glowing reviews we’ve heard. The drinks were good but didn’t stand out as particularly special.

We’re opening to giving it another shot. The menu has a lot to offer and curious to try some of their other options. Overall, a solid experience but not quite the game-changer I was expecting.

The best tea shop in Austin ? I’m from Houston but I have to stop by whenever I have a chance to go to Austin. My most favorite is Orange & Passionfruit Tea Their tea is the next level!!

We ordered three bubble teas, and they tasted great ?. However, I had some issues with the ordering and service experience. The menu showed add-ons, but there wasn’t an option to select them in the app. So, I left a note asking if I could purchase pearls (boba) separately, and I also didn’t receive any notifications when the order was ready, which was unusual compared to previous visits. And I saw others comment with same issue about the notification.

When we arrived at the store around 3:30 PM, we found the drinks had been sitting there for a while without any updates on the app. While picking up the drinks, A staff smile and hand me the drinks. This time another staff member asked about my note, and I explained the situation. Her response was, “That is not impossible,” which felt unprofessional and unclear. It left me confused and disappointed, as I was simply trying to clarify something that wasn’t an option in the app.

I really enjoy drinks, but the communication and service this time fell short of expectations. I hope the system for mobile orders and staff training can be improved to avoid similar issues in the future.

Love the decor and aesthetic of the interior.

Boba was well done and soft.

Drink size is smaller than the average drink, be aware. The cups are cute and I love the rope attached to carry my drink!

Heyyy. Yeah I did end up coming back. Yes, it's still delicious. No I don't regret the drive ?. This time around, I got the green tea and it was so floral, fragrant, and refreshing. It was light but rich at the same time. 100/10. (11/2/24)

To my poor friends who have been victims of my teascapades and raging matcha addiction, I am sorry but you will not escape me even in Austin because I'll drag you to Chi Cha San Chen even if they don't have matcha. Every time I've gotten a tea here, it absolutely hits. I can't get enough of it (is this what addiction is). Their tea gets such high ratings because it is not only made of quality tea leaves, but made with the time, care, and passion of the lovely tearistas who make the drinks. The sweetheart who was leading the tea tastings spoke of tea with such joy, passion, and light, it made the experience all the more enjoyable. I can't wait for future locations to open because I have 4 of the eight pins and I want to collect them all haha

I would definitely plan a day to go to Austin just for Chi Cha San Chen. In fact, I already have a couple times (and it will only continue this coming year)(9/2024)
