Fast friendly service and every Employee is smiling. This was my second time of being in the store. And I felt at home I will definitely be visiting the Academy sports+Outdoors again more often.

Absolutely had the worse experience!
We shop at Academy a lot. And yesterday I went in to get some softball equipment and things we needed. As I’m shopping an employee comes by my in the clothing isle and I noticed she was making it noticeable she was watching me and looking in my basket. I didn’t think anything of it at first till she kept on following throughout the store as I was shopping.
I was just going to let it go because I wasn’t doing anything “illegal” for her to be watching me. But as she kept on I finally just took my basket to the service desk and told the girl at the service desk what was going on.
That girl was so embarrassed and sympathetic. She was apologizing over and over and as I told her it was not her fault at all. But as I’m speaking to her the employee that kept following me moved her way to the front or the store and was still watching me. I left my basket there and left.
This happened around 2:00-2:30 ish pm.

Well, around an hour and half to two hours later my husband and I went back in there because that was the only store that we could find what we needed. As we walk in the employee that was harassing me was at the service desk. She sees me walk in and looks at me and gives me a smirk and watches me walk to the sporting equipment again.
We grabbed what we needed and checked out and left.

I posted this on Facebook and had a few other people (one person) say it also happened to her yesterday with the same employee as well.
And others said she has done it to them in the last week.
This is a very unprofessional manner and it’s ridiculous you can’t shop in peace without being harassed.
I understand watching people due to high crimes and stealing but if someone isn’t being suspicious and you’ve watched the for 15 plus minutes you can tell by then they aren’t doing anything illegal.
She need to learn to respect shoppers and not harass them!
We will be taking our business else where from now on!

This our favorite Academy store! Its always clean and the associates are so nice! Their tackle selection is absolutely insane! We drive all the way from Ada just to shop here. 10/10 always.

I ordered online. Excellent variety of anything you could possibly need for any outdoor activity. Picked up my order the very next day. Everyone was fast and efficient. Only 4 stars because I never saw not one employee smile. Guest services seemed miserable. Like zombies working. Just going through the motions.

Academy sports ia amazing. Bought the children their back to school shoes, window shopped guns and ammo. Going to get a 308 WEN Savage soon. Great customer service.

Always find pretty much what I’m looking for. This is one of the smaller stores I’ve been to but it does have a lot in it. Staff is always helpful.
