I’ve been a loyal Fleet Feet customer for years, regularly visiting locations all over but mainly my home base in Georgetown/Austin TX. I was even a member of the run club in Georgetown TX, before my job relocated me to a different city. So I am coming from a FF community where the customer service is consistently excellent. Unfortunately, this weekend (1/25/25) when visiting my brother for his first half marathon, my experience at the downtown Tulsa location was disappointing and unwelcoming.

Will, the younger associate who assisted us in getting my brother some new compression socks post race, was incredibly kind and helpful. He answered all of our questions and ensured we were matched with the right brand/product for our problem. He’s the only reason this review has any positivity. However, the same cannot be said for the other associate, Oliver, whose demeanor and behavior were completely unprofessional and off-putting.

From the moment we entered, Oliver didn’t greet us—he just looked at us and loudly coughed to seemingly signal for Will to come out from the back. As we moved through the store, Oliver continued to watch us closely and even followed us as we browsed. During checkout, he stood directly behind us, observing the transaction in a way that felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. When I smiled at him, hoping to ease the tension, he simply stared back without saying a word.

I want to emphasize that I’m not accusing Oliver of being discriminatory, but his attitude and behavior were noticeably different when interacting with other customers who were fairer-skinned. It’s hard not to feel a sense of judgment or bias, especially when this is not the first negative experience I’ve had with Oliver at this location. In fact, when I lived in Tulsa, I stopped coming to this store because of how unwelcoming and strange his demeanor was.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable, especially for a brand like Fleet Feet that prides itself on being welcoming and inclusive. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as it reflects poorly on an otherwise great company.

I had a wonderful experience. I was helped as soon as I walked in the door. The person who helped me seemed very knowledgeable and dedicated to getting me what I needed to help with my situation. I didn't feel pressured and felt like I was shown all of my options. Would definitely recommend.

My go to place for my race gear and most of my packet pick-up. They are smaller but always seem to have what I need.

The staff is always attentive to every customer and very nice.

Seemed very cramped with a small selection of inventory. The guy working the counter didn't seem knowledgeable about what they have instock.

Our sales associate, Norah was so helpful! My daughter and I both needed shoes, and Norah walked us through the process so patiently! She answered all of our questions and didn't pressure us to buy anything that wasn't right for us. She is such a an asset to the store, and we will definitely be back when we need more shoes!
